2nd Edition of Luís Patrão Scholarship Strengthens Collaboration Between The Lisbon MBA and Turismo de Portugal. Empowering Future Leaders in Tourism and Business!

 

The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova is proud to announce its continued partnership with the Luís Patrão Scholarship for 2025, reinforcing a shared mission with Turismo de Portugal to develop the next generation of leaders in tourism, business, and innovation.

 

Now in its 2nd edition, the Luís Patrão Scholarship is a transformative initiative that provides financial support for young professionals pursuing postgraduate education in key areas such as management, economics, administration, finance, marketing, and tourism. Through this partnership, students admitted to either of The Lisbon MBA’s programs – the International MBA or Executive MBA—are eligible to apply for one of five full scholarships, up to €50,000.

 

A Unique Opportunity for Ambitious Professionals
The Luís Patrão Scholarship aims to support high-potential individuals under 35 years old, residing (effective) in Portugal for at least the past 5 years, who are committed to leading positive change in the tourism and business sectors.

 

Application Deadline: May 31, 2025
Full Scholarship Value: up to €50,000 per student
Number of Scholarships Available: 5

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Aged 35 or younger and residing in Portugal

Hold a higher education degree with a final grade of 14/20 or above

Must be admitted or enrolled in The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova

 

Required Documents:

Copy of the citizen card or equivalent document

Proof of no debts to social security and the tax authority

Academic qualification certificate

Updated curriculum vitae

Up to two letters of recommendation

Motivation letter

Proof of residence in Portugal

Acceptance letter from The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova

 

How to Apply for the Luís Patrão Scholarship – Step by Step:

1 – Check the eligibility criteria:
Ensure you meet the Bolsa Luís Patrão requirements, including age, residency, academic background, and admission to an eligible program.

2 – Apply to The Lisbon MBA (International or Executive MBA):
Start or Continue your Application here. Make sure to gather all required documents and complete each section carefully. Admission to one of these programs is a prerequisite for applying to the Luís Patrão Scholarship.

3 – Submit your MBA application and await the admission decision:
Complete your MBA application and go through the evaluation process. You’ll receive your official admission letter from The Lisbon MBA if successful.

4 – Apply for the Luís Patrão Scholarship:

5 – Wait for the evaluation results:
Your application will be reviewed by an independent panel organized by Turismo de Portugal, based on academic merit, professional experience, leadership potential, and contribution to tourism innovation.

6 – Begin your MBA journey with a full scholarship:
If selected, you will receive a full scholarship and officially begin your MBA studies at The Lisbon MBA — empowered to make a meaningful impact in your career and the future of tourism.

 

⚠️ To be eligible for this unique opportunity, applicants must start and submit an application to The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova and also submit their application to the Bolsa Luís Patrão 2025 — both no later than May 31st, 2025 — while meeting all mandatory eligibility criteria. Evaluation Criteria:

Applications are evaluated by an external panel according to the following criteria:

Academic performance (30%)

Relevant professional experience (25%)

Leadership ability (20%)

Contributions to the tourism sector (15%)

Focus on innovation and sustainability (10%)
