Executive MBA 2020-22 Immersion Week

The new 2020-22 class of the Executive Program kicked off their MBA with an intensive Immersion Week.

 

After a welcome by the deans of both universities, as well as the Coordination Council on the first day and an inspiring session from Susana Quintana-Plaza, COO of Galp, they had a group activity on the power of relationship intelligence, with Lorraine Steele, an executive coach, specialized in global leadership development.

 

On Tuesday the day started with a case discussion session, with  professor Kyryl Lakishyk and worked on an IKEA Cased Study, first divided into groups, and then with the whole class.

 

The afternoon was occupied by the individual photo session of all students, as well the presentation of The Lisbon MBA Alumni Club. Throughout their MBA, they will have access to several networking initiative and after they graduate, these students will be part of a worldwide community .

 

The next day, they met part of the Leadership Stream team that will be working closely with them for the next 21 months.

 

Teresa Oliveira and Joana Domingues, from the Leadership Stream,  shared the journey they are embarking in, and the class worked on the importance of embracing diversity, a key element of all MBA classes within The Lisbon MBA. Teresa Oliveira referred that this class is “a group of students mobilized to challenge and challenge themselves, available to make the exchange of ideas, perspectives and experiences that support a deeper and last-longing development and the best cocreation of a common journey”. That same day, Prof Cesar Ribeiro Almeira also shared with them a vision on The Leader’s Compass.

 

Two of the mandatory courses also started this week – Marketing Management with Prof. João Borges de Assunção and Uncertainty and Decision making with Prof. Luis Catela Nunes.

 

All students of this class will reunite again on campus on October 23rd and 24th for Leadership Stream, Uncertainty and Decision Making and Marketing Management.
