Manifesto for Meritocracy, Equality and Diversity for Development and Competitiveness

The European Day for Equal Pay is celebrated annually on November 2nd because it is on this date that women would symbolically cease to receive a salary. This date was set by the European Commission on the grounds that men earn an average of 13% more than women.
In Portugal, according to data from the Global Gender Gap Report (2016) of the World Economic Forum – WEF, women receive an average annual salary of € 20,431; men gain an average of € 28,935 (USD 34,025). Men earned an average of € 8,504 more than women per year.
This disparity is a consequence of the world socio-economic model where developed countries are no exception. It is, however, our understanding that there is an increased responsibility on the part of developed countries to change this paradigm.
In this sense, The Lisbon MBA and Michael Page decide to head a manifesto that intends to mark not only a position in the economy but, above all, contribute actively to building a fairer social and economic model for Portugal.
