The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs(AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and MBA alumni of The Lisbon MBA are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 50,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Established in 2007, The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova is an internationally recognized joint-venture between two top European Business schools based in Portugal, CATÓLICA-LISBON and NOVA SBE, in partnership with MIT Sloan School of Management. The Lisbon MBA offers two Programs, The Lisbon MBA International Program and The Lisbon MBA Executive Program. It is supported by a rigorous academic component from three top business schools, a truly global experience and a holistic approach to education, with a methodology based on action-learning, to unlock student´s leadership potential and global vision, essential to thrive in a VUCA world in which we live.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended The Lisbon MBA brand, having established itself as a leader in the Portuguese market, with strong relationships with local employers and industry.

The panel commended the content of the courses, and the diversity in the programmes. The engaged involvement of alumni in the student learning experience, with alumni mentoring current students, was also commended by the panel.

Filipe Santos, Dean of CATÓLICA-LISBON and Daniel Traça, Dean of NOVA SBE, stated that:  “We are very proud of being awarded, once again, the AMBA accreditation. This accreditation recognizes and consolidates the position of The Lisbon MBA Católica | Nova at the top of the world’s MBAs.

The AMBA report attests the strength of our programs in providing students with a unique learning experience, anchored in the world-class faculty of our leading business schools in collaboration with our long-standing partner MIT Sloan.  The global and holistic approach to education that we share and promote enhances, not only the acquisition of business management fundamentals, but also the leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities that managers require to develop meaningful careers and drive the positive change that their organizations and society needs in an increasingly complex world.

This AMBA recognition thus reinforces our commitment to continue developing our world-class Lisbon MBA programs – the International Full Time MBA and the Executive MBA, as a way to shape the global leaders that will imprint the future.”

AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA), said, ‘The Lisbon MBA is a fantastic venture. There is a clear focus on providing the very best student experience for those enrolling in the programmes. I am looking forward to continuing to work with initiative.’
