The Lisbon MBA Alumni expect the Portuguese economy to slightly improve during the year
Jornal de Negócios December’s Barometer reveals that The Lisbon MBA Alumni anticipate an improvement in the Portuguese economy during 2021. However, 48% believe this improvement will be slight while only 12% expect a significant recovery.
Luís Barreto Xavier, The Lisbon MBA Alumnus and Executive Director of Bank Julius Baer & Co., believes in a slow recovery of the Portuguese economy, which will be driven by the global economic expansion that is expected to happen in the next twelve months. “Portugal should naturally benefit from this global economic recovery, especially if in the second half of 2021 tourism activity levels resume to similar ones obtained in 2019.”
The Lisbon MBA / Business Barometer is the result of a partnership between Jornal de Negócios and The Lisbon MBA, and consists of a quarterly survey sent to our Alumni Community, inquiring on current economic and corporate trends.
Every edition is commented by an invited guest of our community. For this edition, we had the privilege of having Luís Barreto Xavier commenting the results.
