The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova has made an impressive leap in the Financial Times Executive MBA (EMBA) Ranking 2024, rising 14 spots to secure 49th place globally. This achievement marks a 35-place jump over the last two years, further solidifying its status as the top Executive MBA program in Portugal. In Europe, the program also reached a new milestone by entering the Top 25.

This recognition reinforces The Lisbon MBA as the only Portuguese MBA consistently ranked among the best worldwide by the Financial Times since 2013. The program’s Executive MBA, which welcomed a new cohort in September 2024, and its International Full-Time MBA, starting in January 2025, both continue to uphold this prestigious reputation.

The Lisbon MBA Executive program distinguishes itself not only through its rise in global rankings but also for its strong performance in career advancement and employability metrics. Graduates see a 66% increase in their salaries three years post-graduation, with an average gross annual salary exceeding $200,000, placing it in the Top 15 for salary growth among European MBAs. These results highlight the program’s success in preparing students to excel in leadership roles and significantly boost their careers.

Additionally, the program stands out in sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) performance. The Lisbon MBA ranks 11th in Europe for its carbon footprint and is among the top 30 MBAs in Europe for ESG curriculum content, reflecting its commitment to incorporating sustainability into its core teachings.

Maria José Amich, Executive Director of The Lisbon MBA, expressed pride in the program’s achievements: “This recognition in the prestigious Financial Times rankings fills us with pride and is the result of our mission to train leaders with the capacity to have a positive impact on the economy and society, and our commitment to academic excellence and continuous pursuit of innovation. Our MBA programs aim to provide a transformational experience beyond acquiring knowledge, skills, and tools and focus on developing competencies such as critical and strategic thinking, exceptional team management, and leadership skills. Our students’ success is in responding to organizations’ needs in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment, helping them achieve sustainable growth for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

The Deans of CATÓLICA-LISBON, Filipe Santos, and Nova SBE, Pedro Oliveira, also emphasized the significance of this accomplishment: “This rise of 14 positions to the world’s TOP 50 this year reflects the quality of our program and the growing success of our graduates in the global market. We are proud of this alliance between our two world reference schools – CATÓLICA-LISBON and NOVA SBE, as well as our excellent international partnerships, among which we highlight the MIT Sloan School of Management, our strategic partner since the creation of the program 15 years ago. We are also proud to have risen 35 places in the world ranking in just two years.”

The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova continues to strengthen its global reputation, offering a world-class education that prepares students for leadership in today’s rapidly evolving business environment.
