This week was very important for The Lisbon MBA. We welcomed The International MBA 2020 class, who started the new year with brand new challenges. It was intense, filled with activities and sessions of different natures: Inspirational Talk and panels, presentations, Case Discussion, outdoor activity, all designed to motivate and foster bonding, and teamwork among the new group.

In the welcome session, Maria José Amich, Executive Director of The Lisbon MBA, Professor Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE, and Professors João Borges de Assunção and Paulo Pinho, Academic Directors of The Lisbon MBA, greeted the new students to the program with warm words of encouragement for the transformational Journey that is now beginning.

The session was inspiring and motivational. All speakers shared a very strong message that we all need to be life-long learners in a world that is rapidly changing, concluding that future leaders need to have the ability to constantly adapt to new realities.

We invited Steven Braekeveldt, CEO of Group Ageas Portugal to meet the class and share his experience, and we had the pleasure of hosting a session with Alumni Club, where some board members talked to the new students about their successful journeys after the MBA and the importance of belonging to The Lisbon MBA Alumni community. At the end of the day, there was a Networking Cocktail held in Nova Campus, where the new class got to meet the current Executive MBA 2018.20 and 2019.21.

By the end of the week, it was noticeable that the International MBA 2020 class was closer than ever and the outdoor teambuilding activity went smoothly. It was time to focus on the soft skills development with sessions such as Mindfulness in Business Problem Solving, and Creating an inclusive work environment, marking the end of the Welcome Week.

The Lisbon MBA International full-time 2020 is a varied group of 34 people from 18 nationalities from all continents (62% of the class is international). In terms of job areas, the group has a diverse background, namely in Business Development, Operations, Strategy, Finance, Consulting, Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Communication, Business Analysis, HR, etc.

We are sure this class will be able to tackle the challenges ahead, together. Good luck and welcome International MBA 2020!
